Ohio Utica Shale Map: December 19, 2015 - Who is Drilling Where

As of the December 19, 2015 report from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, 156 wells are classified as currently drilling in Ohio's Utica Shale.

Most active counties with wells drilling
Belmont County leads with  42 wells drilling, followed by Monroe (32), Noble (21), Harrison (20), Guernsey (19), Carroll (10), Jefferson (9), and Portage, Trumbull, and Tuscarawas with 1 each.

Most active operators drilling
Ascent Resources leads all operators with 44 wells classified as currently drilling, followed by
Antero Resources (24), Eclipse Resources (16), Chesapeake (14), Gulfport Energy (14), Rice Drilling (8), XTO Energy (8), Carrizo (6), CNX Gas (5), PDC Energy (4), Hess (3), Triad Hunter (3), EQT (1), Halcon (1), and Mountaineer Keystone (1).
