Utica / Point Pleasant (Ohio) - Top O&G Producers - 5 Quarters

Q1 2013 through Q1 2014 - Cumulative Production Reports

Quarterly Production reports from the Ohio Utica / Point Pleasant play will continue to be sliced and diced by the analysts and operators. With each quarterly report, everyone has much more data to chew on, draw conclusions from, and guide decisions. Below is the first of my reports, a simple summary of the top 25 producers with respect to Oil and Gas from the last 5 consecutive quarterly reports released by the Ohio DNR.

Looking at the last 5 quarterly reports (Q1 2013 through Q1 2014) from the Ohio DNR

Top 25 Oil producing wells
  • Harrison County leads the pack with 12, followed by Guernsey and Noble with 5 each, and Carroll county coming in with 5.
  • Gulfport operates 7 of the top 25,  followed by Chesapeake with 6, Antero with 5, PDC 4, Chevron 2, and Carrizo 1

Important note on maps and data
Data originated from Ohio DNR quarterly reports. A match and merge (keyed on API number) was used to collate the data. A small number of wells from the production reports, ~10, did not come back with a match to allow me to post the wells on a map. Also, the data is a bit skewed by the fact that older wells, with production starting before Q1 2013, are necessarily further into their decline so total production for some wells with production before Q1 2013 is not necessarily representative of production. In addition, while care was taken to present this data accurately and I strongly believe it to properly reflect data posted by the Ohio DNR, I don't take any responsibility for accuracy and I encourage you to look into the data yourself if any assurance is important.
